The downside? The poo-smelling mulch always makes its way into my house and onto my newly cleaned carpet.
And on a different note, we received this humongous Halloween gift basket from our neighbor today filled with everything imaginable. Don't know why, but we will enjoy it all the same.

Look at the bright side- the more they shovel the better they sleep at night. Although if your cleaning once you get them to sleep I don't know how you win.
