Cliff Notes of Ben Ben's birthday

I've been a lazy blogger lately. Not sure why. But I have finally found a few minutes to post about Bennett's 7 year birthday last week.

Here it goes:
3 hours of yelling, screaming, jumping, hitting, eating, playing, running, singing and laughing.

Want a slightly longer version, then read on.

Pizza and rootbeer for all! I don't know how many boys went up and down the stairs at least a dozen times eating bites of this and drinks of that. Too excited to just sit down and eat.

Trying to keep 10 boys out of the way of the pinata stick.

Bennett adorning pieces of the broken pinanta.

3 other pinata wearing kids. Cute huh.

Scrambling for the goodies as if their life depends on it. Wouldn't it have been funny if I had stuffed it with carrots and broccoli?

Picture of the cupcake cake. I have given up on cakes since I do such an awful job decorating them.

Taylor conveniently stepping in front of the camera at the exact moment Bennett blows out the candles.

Sensing that Bennett does not know how to open gifts, all the boys pitch in.

His favorite gift?

A giant stuffed shark.

Lately Bennett has been getting into stuffed animals. For Christmas he asked for a big lizard. So I went to IKEA and bought a giant crocodile, called it a lizard and it was a hit. He loves that thing. He takes it to bed with him and hauls it all over the place. He lovingly calls it Rudy. So when I asked him what he wanted for his birthday he immediately said he wanted a giant shark. Since lizards aka crocodiles like water, a shark would be a good companion for Rudy. So off I went again to IKEA and bought him a shark. He calls this one Sharkey. Clever huh? He sleeps with both of these giant animals, and there is hardly enough room in his bed for himself.

And while we are on the subject of Bennett I will continue. This kid has had 3 wiggly teeth for about a month now. About a week ago the bottom one finally fell out. But somehow he lost it between his mouth and his pillow, so the Tooth Fairy got a note explaining the situation. Then a few days ago, Bennett came home from his friend's house and showed me that his top one had fallen out, but that he had no idea when it happened. How do you not know when a tooth falls out? Did he eat it? So again, we wrote a note to our fairy and explained. He is a very understanding fairy. And when I mean he, I mean Taylor. He has been let in on the secret and now is very excited to help us out with the younger squirts. He's got a great memory, so I doubt the fairy will ever forget again.

Sweet! I think it would be so fun to fill the pinata with veggies and hear the groans in the end! What a wild party!! Didn't DW, (Arthur's sister) have a giant shark named Sharkey? Cute!

Thank goodness birthdays only come once a year. Sounds like a successful and fun birthday party, it many not have been so great with carrots instead of candy in the pinata.
