featuring a spider named Charlotte, a stubborn tooth, pink eyes and pink mountains, and a little man in the mirror

I copied my title from my favorite book I have read so far this year. "The Book Thief." There are good books that keep your attention while you read. There are great books that grab your attention and make it difficult to put them down. And then there are excellent books that move you. This one moved me to tears. For me that rarely happens. That is when I know I am reading great literature. I highly, highly recommend it. You will become so attached to the characters in this book.

But back to my title of this post. In "The Book Thief", the author starts out each chapter with a summary of the chapter in this fashion. Since all of my pictures are completely random I thought why not. Unlike the author though, my little story will not form a cohesive chapter. So sorry.

Taylor was in his first play this past week. If you haven't guessed it was Charlotte's Web. Taylor and his 2 best friends were the announcers. He did a great job. He had his lines memorized and said them on cue - I think. The only glitch in the program was that the microphones weren't loud enough so most of us only heard bits & pieces of the play. Everyone looked and acted great though, so I call it a success.

Bennett has a loose tooth. His very first one. He is so proud that his tooth is on its way out, but he won't let anyone touch it or inspect it at all. Even asking him to look at it is questionable. That poor tooth has been hanging on for dear life for weeks. All it would take to get that baby out is probably just a little wiggle. But that would entail someone actually touching the tooth. So we just keep waiting for it to fall out on its own.

Owen has pink eye. That was confirmed by his doctor this afternoon. His poor eyes look and feel terrible. We have to put in antibiotic drops in his eyes twice a day for a week. Owen was all gung ho about putting medicine in his eyes until he felt the first drop. He changed his mind. When we went to do the second eye, Scott had to hold his arms down while I pried his eye open. It is going to be a long week.

This is a picture I took from my deck. Everyone gives Utah Lake a bad rap, but it can be quite beautiful. I happened to look outside just when the sunset was reflecting off the the ice that has been slowly breaking up and melting.

Little Chasey had fun playing with that handsome kid in the mirror. Headbutting him was the best part!

Cute Pictures! Pink eye is no fun, and those drops definately are a pain to get them in their eyes!

I hope the rest of your kids don't get pink eye.

Such cute kids, even with Pink eye. Yes the drops sting. I would bribe my kids, and make a game out of it. That way they didn't cry the drops out. And at the end of the week they got a toy of their choice. Maybe that will help. Also beautiful picture of the lake. One that mom would be VERY proud of.

Great post! I'm interested in that book. It's so lovely out where you live. Sometimes we joke about living in Little House on the Prairie. We had to do various ear and eye drops for Amy too. It helped to put them in my pants pocket for 10 or 15 before dropping them in. Good luck!
