The Truth Hurts

The other day Bennett drew this picture of our house. I asked him to tell me about it. He pointed to different rooms and explained that dad was eating breakfast in the kitchen(some scribble somewhere) and he was on the stairs. I then asked him who the person was in the top right corner of the house. He said "That is you mom laying on the couch with your pillow." Apparently I lay on the couch so much that is the one thing he thinks about when he decides to draw me. Forget about all the times he has seen me do more productive things (cook, clean, read, laundry). He just remembers the lazy side. I guess I had better get off the couch!

Are you sick? Are you feeling alright? Yea, my kids would pretty much say the same thing. Jacob asked me this last summer, "Mom! Do you want to be an underwater statue of a woman talking on the phone?!"

So is that what you do when you talk to me all day?
