Several weeks ago, I was wondering how you make theater popcorn at home. We ditched store bought microwave popcorn years ago and have just always popped it in an air popper and added butter and salt. Although this is good (and healthier) popcorn, sometimes you want the movie theater kind. The kind that is terrible for you.
I did some research and I bought three things.
1)A pan that stirs the popcorn. You can use a regular pan, but this just ensures everything is evenly mixed and nothing burns.
2)Coconut oil
3)Flavacol seasoning - This stuff is really what makes it taste like movie theater popcorn and there is absolutely nothing natural or healthy about this stuff at all. It's as fake as it comes. And this box will last us our entire life.
That's all it takes, and your popcorn will be pretty darn close to the real thing. I've just got to hide the Flavacol so my kids don't make it all the time.

Way to beat the system. Now you are really ready for your 24 hour Harry Potter vigils.
Kris was telling me about a pan like this for a kettle corn recipe they have been making a lot. Might need to get me one...
Kris gave us a pan like this for Christmas along with the recipe for Kettle corn and yes, it takes just like the kind you buy at the State Fair.
