By the time school starts again, I feel like I am hanging by a thread about read to drop. School has been in for 2 weeks now and I am still playing catch up and trying to catch my breath.
The house is in desperate need of some organization, blog posts I never got around to posting, e-mails I never bothered to reply to. The list goes on and on. I'd like to say that I am on top of everything, but that is just not the case. However, I do see hope. I have time now during the day to wade and sort through everything I have put off. And soon, very soon I will feel put back together.
I don't even know why I bother summarizing July and August, but here is the cliff notes version of the cliff notes.
+ Chasey turned 8. 8 years old! As his birthday was only a few days after we got home from Alaska, I threw together a last minute party with his friends. I love my play room for parties like this! We had his favorite meal (french dip and salad with Blue cheese dressing) and sang Happy Birthday.
+ We've been making quick weekend trips up there to enjoy our cabin and work on the finishing touches.
+ Jaron and Michelle come to visit. Pie in the face, root beer tasting, and a hike up Timp. What more could you ask for?
+ Chasey got baptized! Chasey also asked Taylor to baptize him. So proud of these boys!
+ Swimming with family and friends
+ Our Ward did a home makeover for a refugee family in Salt Lake. I was on the committee to help put it all together. It was so much work! Not counting the prep time we did organizing the event, our Ward gutted and put back together their entire home, added a deck and did landscaping in 3 days. We worked like dogs, but it was such an amazing experience. I would gladly do this again. This is a picture of their kitchen after it was complete.
+ Our 5th annual outdoor movie night. We did a double feature this year. Eddie the Eagle and The Burbs. We had so many kids come!!
+ Demolition Derby - Summer would not be the same without a derby! A perfect end to the summer.
