2 years ago when we filled this box full of sand it was overflowing. We had to give away sand because we didn't have room. Now it is almost empty. They are currently attempting to dig to China and I must say they are doing a pretty good job.
Where has all the sand gone? Some of it has been thrown out of the box on all 4 sides. On a few occassions when I have been in a particularly good mood I have let them fill the sandbox with water. They soon discovered that taking the wet sand and chucking it at the stucco wall behind it was loads more fun than just keeping it in the box. I soon discovered that trying to get the sand off the wall was extremely difficult due to the fact that the wet sand turned into hardened cement. That activity has since been banned.
The rest has slowly snuck away in pant pockets, cuffs and inside shoes. I am pretty sure that I have seen most of it in my laundry baskets and in my dryer vent. But I don't know what we would do without this box. It has provided hours of entertainment. So the sneaky sand will just have to be tolerated.

The best thing we ever gave our children was a sand box. It does travel around though.
"Mexican mudballs" at your house too hu? But my boys sure love their box too!
Oh, I want to put together a sand box for my boys.
It looks like your boys are getting thier money worth out of that sand box
I want to get a sandbox for our kids someday. Every time we go somewhere that has one they have so much fun with it and it does provide hours of fun.
