Figgy

2 years ago,  I inherited this sad Fiddle Leaf Fig from my parents.  It had been in their home for at least a decade and before that, it had resided in my Grandparents house.  I felt pity for this poor thing and decided to give it another shot at looking pretty.

After doing a fair amount of research and watching YouTube videos on the proper care and feeding of Fiddle Leaf Figs, I pruned it, put it on a correct watering schedule next to a bright window and waited patiently.  Several weeks ago I took the plunge.  I root-pruned  and gave him a new home in this gorgeous pot that I had been eyeing ever since I brought the plant home 2 years ago.

Some serious roots that need pruning!

Swapping out the soil for a better mixture

He looks fantastic and I'm excited to see how much growing he will do this summer.  I think I'll name him Figgy.  Really unique name, right?   He is now officially part of the family.

D&D

Probably inspired by the great Netflix series, Stranger Things, Bennett and his friends have been playing Dungeon and Dragons for hours on end.  Hmmmm I wonder how Bennett's grades have been holding up with all this game playing?

The other day,  I was at Target and happened upon a D&D shirt.  I bought it, thinking Bennett would love wearing it.  I was wrong.  He saw it and the first thing he said was "Mom, I can't wear that to school, I'll get beat up."  What?  I guess all this D&D game playing is done in secret.  Heaven help them all, if it gets out.  Those delicate middle school reputations will be ruined.
